Overview

Drift helps travelers plan trips the way they browse a social feed: by scrolling, saving, and sharing ideas. The product needed a responsive web and mobile experience that made itinerary planning feel like discovery, not admin work.

The Challenge

Travelers were juggling spreadsheets, notes, and a dozen browser tabs. Existing planners were powerful but rigid, and most people abandoned them before finishing a single itinerary.

What I Did

I designed the end-to-end experience across web and mobile, from early concepts to a tested prototype.

  • Mapped the planning journey and found the moments where users dropped off.

  • Designed a card-based itinerary builder with drag-and-drop days and shared trips.

  • Created a responsive layout system that scales from phone to desktop.

  • Usability-tested the prototype with 15 travelers and refined the key flows.

  • Partnered with engineering to ship the first release in eight weeks.

The Result

Testers completed a full itinerary 3× faster than with their previous tools, and Drift’s beta waitlist doubled within a week of the launch announcement.
