Overview

Halcyon is a product studio with a growing design system and a growing question: is anyone actually using it? They needed a dashboard that made component adoption visible to designers, engineers, and leadership alike.

The Challenge

Usage data lived in three different tools, and none of it was easy to read. Teams argued from anecdotes, and nobody could say which components were loved, ignored, or quietly forked.

What I Did

I designed the dashboard end to end, from the first data audit to a tested, developer-ready interface.

  • Interviewed designers and engineers to find the questions the dashboard had to answer.

  • Designed a clear overview with adoption trends, top components, and drift alerts.

  • Built a chart and table pattern library that works in light and dark themes.

  • Prototyped and tested the flows with 8 team members before development.

  • Handed off documented Figma files with every state and edge case.

The Result

Component adoption rose from 54% to 81% in one quarter, and the design-ops team now uses the dashboard to decide what to build, retire, or improve next.
